One of our favorite stops in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware is the Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats. It was renovated and reopened this past spring. It’s so fun and the food is delicious!
It’s become one of our usual stops whenever we come up to our beach house. We always get a flight of four 4oz samplers and some appetizers to share. Today, we tried the Sea Quench, Namaste White, 120 Minute IPA, and the Sick Cider.
The Sea Quench (4.9% ABV) was named by Men’s Health magazine to be the best low-calorie beer. It is a light beer that’s a little sour. It is made with lime peel, black limes and sea salt to create a citrusy-tart flavor.
The Namaste White (4.8% ABV) is a Belgium-style white ale. It’s brewed with dried orange peel, fresh-cut lemongrass, coriander and peppercorns. This was my mom’s pick and is nice and light.
The 120 Minute IPA (15-20% ABV) is one of Dogfish Head’s vintage beers and is not sold anywhere else. It’s flavor profile is “sherry marmalade-like as hops settle.” This was my dad’s pick and on the darker side.
The Sick Cider (6.5% ABV) is their rustic cider that is fermented in red-wine barrels with brett. This was my pick and was a little tart to me.
For dinner, we got the pretzel bites to start and I got the crab & corn chowder with a personal pizza – the Simple Enquiry.
The corn & crab chowder is so delicious and I could eat it everyday for the rest of my life. It has chunks of potatoes, corn, Old Bay oyster crackers, crab, bacon, and is garnished with micro celery.
The Simple Enquiry is a take on the tradition margherita pizza. It comes with San Marzano tomato sauce, micro basil, mozzarella cheese that’s made in-house, and ricotta on a thin crust. I was so full by the time I got to the pizza and only ate a couple slices but it was so tasty as well!
If you’re ever in the area, I definitely recommend stopping for some bites and beers! Let me know what you get and how you like it in the comments below!
